The Eastern Southland Gallery warmly invites you to a Floor Talk, Exhibition Opening and Poetry Reading, on Saturday 12^th and Sunday 13^th September, to celebrate the exhibition Faces & Flowers: Patricia France & Dinah Hawken – see invitation attached.

Dunedin artist Patricia France (1911-1995) began painting in her fifties. For Patricia, this activity was life transforming, and she became a dedicated artist, exhibiting regularly over the next thirty years and developing strong friendships with fellow artists.

Dinah Hawken is a poet, based in Paekākāriki and a relation of Patricia France. She has written a collection of sonnets responding to the paintings of Patricia France and these will be exhibited alongside her work.
