I welcome poetry books to review. While I want to focus on New Zealand poetry, I will also review books from elsewhere. I will not review all books but I aim to review a range of books from boutique and small presses along with those from larger publishing companies.

In 2024, Poetry Shelf is taking a temporary sabbatical while I recover from a bone marrow transplant. I aim to relaunch the blog early April with a range of poems (invitation only), interviews, audios, features, commentary on favourite poems, poets musing on various things, and book reviews. I will try and keep a newsboard running. I will also celebrate other genres as particular books fascinate me, whether fiction or nonfiction.

In 2024 I will be going slowly but I do want to furnish a connecting poetry hub for writers and readers, publishers and booksellers, in Aotearoa.
