Poetry Shelf Monday Poem: Balaena Bay, 7.15 am by Ella Booray

Balaena Bay, 7.15 am

pink juice spreads in streaks
pomegranate sky

the sea is inky–
indigo
velvety cold

Maddie, Lou and Poppy stride ahead
waist deep
on a Wednesday
